QUARRY POINT

$497.65
QUARRY POINT
30x40” mixed media on canvas.

QUARRY POINT’s palette is inspired by the integration
of nature and mankind. It’s got some sienna browns,
oranges, periwinkles and ice blues, and some black
and whites.

Like a quarry lake (there are many in the world, pick
your favorite one), the piece has a whole lot of texture,
mineral tones, as well as natural calming tones
associated with water and freedom. I’ve always
thought quarry lakes were beautiful; it amazes me
when humanity can create something that mimics
nature’s natural beauty.

I’ve liked putting bolder contrast in my work as of late.
The stark contrast between light and dark; warm and
cold, is something I’m drawn to and think about often.
From a philosophical perspective I think this contrast
plays itself out in most areas of our lives, and
articulating it and putting words to it helps me
understand who I am and what I believe more with
each passing day.

But for QUARRY POINT, maybe you don’t need to
overthink it that much.
