24x48” acrylic and oil paint, acrylic ink, and modeling clay on canvas.
MANZANITA is inspired by the driftwood and the beaches of the Oregon Coast. Some of my favorite memories growing up were spent near a little beach town called Manzanita on the coast, playing in driftwood forts and swimming in the (freezing) waters of the ocean. When creating this piece I aimed to capture that memory as best as I could.
Heavily textured like driftwood, MANZANITA will remind you of the delicate contrast between the sky and sea, and the sandy beaches created by years of methodical work by the ocean.
